BER measurements of frequency converted signalsusingfour-wave mixing in a semiconductor laser amplifier at 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 Gbit/s

Abstract

Error free frequency conversion over 500 GHZ at bit rates from 1 to 10 Gbit/s is achieved in a semiconductor laser amplifier. The signal waveforms and BER performance indicate that the frequency converted signals are unaffected by the ultrafast conversion process.
