Four-wave Mixing

Four-Wave Mixing is a third-order nonlinear optical process in which three propagating optical waves interact in a nonlinear medium to generate a fourth wave, distinguished by its dependence on the intensity-dependent refractive index and phase-matching conditions to achieve coherent energy transfer among the interacting frequencies.
