A study on the theory of instantaneous reactive power

Abstract

A new definition of instantaneous reactive power is presented. This definition has a clear physical meaning that includes both the conventional instantaneous reactive power and the instantaneous power of a zero-phase component. A simple control algorithm for the active filter derived from the new definition is described.
