Abstract Survey results are reported for 185 parents whose children's cases were selected by school-based teams as examples of most complete implementation of the Intervention-Based Assessment (IBA) problem-solv- ing model introduced under a waiver plan in Ohio schools. Although parents rated the IBA model favorably, their satisfaction was related to degree of reported involvement in intervention planning. Intervention success failed to predict parent perceptions of IBA effectiveness, suggesting that parent satisfaction may depend on factors other than attainment of specified intervention goals. Parent membership on teams from the initiation of the IBA process failed to predict their ratings of model effectiveness or actual student goal attainment. However, parent reports of home support for interventions was a significant predictor of goal attainment, supporting the inclusion of parents in intervention de- livery. Results arediscussed in terms of implications for parent involve- ment in school problem-solving efforts and recommendations for future research on the social validity of such practices.
