Method to calculate the reflection and transmission of guided waves

Abstract

We show how the calculation of reflection and transmission of guided waves can be simplified by making the continuous part of the wave-number spectrum discrete. We apply the method to the calculation of the reflection coefficient of TE waves of a slab waveguide.
