Development of Self-Management Education for Elderly Heart Patients

Abstract

Described is the development and field test of an innovative four-session program of self-management education for individuals with heart disease. The education, based on social learning theory and teaching of self-regulatory activities, seems highly acceptable to older patients and to have potential as a model program for larger scale evaluation.
