On the position of energy levels related to transition-metal impurities in III-V semiconductors

Abstract

Deep levels are often believed to be tied to one or other of the band edges in a semiconductor. There is, however, evidence that the deep level link is with the vacuum, and independent of the particular III-V semiconductor.
