The recognition and suppression of small features from solid B-rep models plays an important role in effectively generating the qualified mesh for analysis. This paper presents an automatic algorithm for recognizing small depression features for the purpose of mesh generation. The innovation of the algorithm lies in the recognition capability for filleted or chamfered depression feature. Results of a software implementation for the same are demonstrated with a comprehensive suitable example.
