Abstract

Problems associated with the school psychologist's traditional assessment functions and methodology are identified and contrasted with the need for assessment information that can contribute meaningfully to the formulation and evaluation of educational interventions. Curriculum-based formative evaluation is presented as an alternative methodology that can enhance the school psychologist's importance and effectiveness in the intervention process.
