Abstract

The hydrodistilled essential oil of Hypericum perfoliatum (Clusiaceae), grown at Jijel (north-eastern Algeria), was analysed by GC–MS; 35 components, representing 96% of the oil, have been identified, with thymol (22.10%), T-cadinol (18.5%) and 4,5-dimethyl-2-ethylphenol (13%) as the main constituents.
