Transient Cofactor Intermediates

Transient Cofactor Intermediates is a mechanistic construct in enzymology that denotes a transient chemical species formed during cofactor-dependent catalysis wherein the cofactor covalently or non-covalently associates with a substrate or reaction intermediate, thereby facilitating group transfer or redox transformations through a short-lived, catalytically competent complex.
