Tau Sumoylation

Tau sumoylation is a post-translational modification in which small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) proteins are covalently attached to specific lysine residues on the microtubule-associated protein tau, thereby altering its stability, subcellular localization, and aggregation propensity in the context of neurodegenerative tauopathies.
