Standard Of Proof
Standard of Proof is a legal threshold of persuasion that determines the quantum and quality of evidence required to establish a proposition or claim in an adjudicative proceeding, distinguishing it from related procedural standards by specifying the level of certainty—such as beyond a reasonable doubt, clear and convincing evidence, or preponderance of the evidence—demanded by the forum depending on the context and stakes involved.
