Sec-dependent Translocation

Sec-Dependent Translocation is a protein translocation mechanism that belongs to the class of co- or post-translational secretion pathways and is distinguished by its dependence on the conserved SecYEG translocon complex and SecA ATPase to mediate the transport of unfolded polypeptides across or into cellular membranes in prokaryotes and organelles of endosymbiotic origin.
