Retinal Endothelial Barrier Function

Retinal Endothelial Barrier Function is a physiological construct that defines the selective permeability and structural integrity of the inner blood-retinal barrier, mediated by tight junctions and transport mechanisms in retinal vascular endothelial cells, which collectively restrict the paracellular diffusion of solutes and immune cells into the neural retina to maintain retinal homeostasis.
