Reasonable Background Checks is a formal risk-mitigation framework within the domain of pre-employment screening that distinguishes itself by establishing a standard of due diligence through which employers investigate job candidates' histories to the extent that a prudent organization in a similar industry or context would under comparable circumstances, thereby minimizing foreseeable harm and liability associated with negligent hiring.
