Polymerase-associated Capping Complex

The Polymerase-Associated Capping Complex is a multisubunit enzymatic complex that associates co-transcriptionally with the RNA polymerase II holoenzyme to facilitate the addition of the 5′ cap structure to nascent pre-mRNA, thereby distinguishing it from other capping mechanisms by its direct physical and functional coupling to the transcription machinery.
