Oxidation Defect Formation
Oxidation Defect Formation is a thin film degradation mechanism characterized by the generation of structural and compositional imperfections at the oxide-metal interface during high-temperature oxidation processes, arising from mismatched growth stresses, interfacial reactions, and thermodynamic instabilities that compromise the integrity and protective efficacy of the oxide layer.
