Nanoindentation

Nanoindentation is a nanomechanical testing technique within the broader category of mechanical characterization methods that distinguishes itself by quantifying the local mechanical properties of materials, particularly thin films and biomaterials, through the controlled indentation of a nanoscale tip while simultaneously measuring load-displacement behavior to determine hardness, elastic modulus, and viscoelastic responses at submicron scales.
