Mold Preservation

Mold Preservation is a type of fossil preservation process in which the impression of an organism’s external or internal surface is retained in sedimentary rock without the retention of the organism’s original skeletal material, distinguished from other preservation modes by the absence of permineralization or recrystallization and the formation of a cavity that reflects the organism’s morphology.
