Microrna Specificity

MicroRNA Specificity is a molecular biology construct that denotes the intrinsic capacity of a microRNA to selectively target and regulate distinct mRNA transcripts through sequence-complementary binding, thereby distinguishing it from other small regulatory RNAs by its precise recognition of seed-region matches within transcript 3′-UTRs.
