Low-dimensional Systems

Low-Dimensional Systems is a class of condensed-matter systems in which the motion of constituent particles is quantum-mechanically confined so that their effective dimensionality is reduced to one or two spatial dimensions (or quasi-zero dimension), thereby producing physical properties qualitatively distinct from those of bulk three-dimensional materials.
