Mott Insulators
Mott Insulator is a type of strongly correlated electronic insulator that arises in condensed matter systems where the insulating behavior is driven predominantly by strong on-site Coulomb repulsion between electrons, preventing charge conduction despite a partially filled band structure that would otherwise imply metallic conductivity according to conventional band theory.
