Host-State Regulation is a formal legal framework through which a host country imposes prudential, conduct, and structural requirements on foreign banking institutions operating within its jurisdiction, distinguishing it from home-state supervision by asserting territorial authority over the operations, governance, and compliance of such institutions in the local financial market.
