Histone Chaperone Function
Histone Chaperone Function is a molecular biological mechanism that belongs to the class of protein-mediated chromatin assembly processes, specifically characterized by the ability to bind and shield histones during nucleosome assembly and disassembly, thereby preventing non-specific DNA interactions and regulating histone transport, deposition, and exchange in a replication-coupled or replication-independent manner.
