G-Quadruplex Cation Binding is a biochemical phenomenon in which monovalent cations selectively stabilize the G-quadruplex structure by coordinating with the electronegative carbonyl oxygens of guanine tetrads, thereby distinguishing it from nonspecific ion interactions in nucleic acid folding.
