Foreign Priority Claim

A "Foreign Priority Claim" is a formal assertion in patent law whereby an applicant claims the filing date of an earlier patent application filed in a foreign country as the effective filing date for a corresponding invention disclosed in a subsequent application in another jurisdiction, thereby establishing priority over later filings in the same technical field.
