Fluidized-bed Fermentation

Fluidized-Bed Fermentation is a continuous fermentation process in which microbial cells are immobilized on solid support particles within a bioreactor, and the bed of particles is fluidized by the upward flow of liquid or gas, thereby enhancing mass transfer and maintaining high cell density and metabolic activity compared to conventional batch or suspended-cell systems.
