Environmental Additionality
Environmental Additionality is a financial integrity criterion that distinguishes green bonds from conventional debt instruments by requiring that the funded projects generate environmental benefits that would not have been achieved in the absence of the green bond financing, thereby ensuring that the investment leads to measurable, incremental ecological improvements beyond business-as-usual activities.
