Double Hull Construction

Double Hull Construction is a shipbuilding design methodology in naval architecture characterized by the inclusion of two complete layers of watertight hull surface, where the outer hull provides structural integrity and environmental protection while the inner hull ensures buoyancy and containment of cargo or ballast, thereby enhancing marine safety and pollution prevention compared to single hull designs.
