Database Search-based Inference

Database Search-Based Inference is a protein inference method that identifies proteins by matching tandem mass spectrometry data to theoretical spectra derived from a protein sequence database, distinguishing itself from de novo or homology-based approaches through its reliance on explicit database lookup and scoring of peptide-spectrum matches.
