Cholangiopathies is a research field dedicated to the study of a spectrum of chronic diseases affecting the biliary tract, investigating their complex pathogenesis involving cholangiocyte dysfunction, inflammation, and progressive liver injury leading to fibrosis and cirrhosis, with the aim of developing effective therapeutic interventions for these conditions which currently have limited treatment options.
