Cell Envelope Proteomics

Cell Envelope Proteomics is a subfield of microbial proteomics that specifically focuses on the comprehensive identification, characterization, and quantification of proteins associated with the cell envelope, including the cytoplasmic membrane, cell wall, and outer membrane in Gram-negative bacteria or the corresponding structures in other microbial cells, thereby distinguishing it from broader proteomic analyses by its exclusive emphasis on the structural and functional components of this specialized cellular boundary.
