CD44 Targeting is a ligand-mediated targeting strategy that specifically directs therapeutic or diagnostic agents to cells overexpressing the CD44 receptor, a transmembrane glycoprotein associated with cancer stemness, inflammation, and tissue homing, by exploiting the high-affinity interaction between CD44 and its ligands such as hyaluronic acid.
