Caspase Cascade Amplification

Caspase Cascade Amplification is a biochemical mechanism within apoptotic signal transduction that refers to the sequential and self-reinforcing activation of caspase enzymes, in which initiator caspases cleave and activate effector caspases, which in turn cleave downstream substrates and amplify the apoptotic signal through proteolytic amplification loops.
