Case-crossover Studies

Case-Crossover Studies is an epidemiological study design that compares an individual’s exposure during a time period immediately before or during an acute event (case period) to the same individual’s exposure during one or more control periods at other times, thereby serving to isolate transient exposure effects on acute outcomes by using each subject as their own control.
