Abstract

This work presents a discussion of PETER (Performance Evaluation of Timed Events in Railways), an analytical tool based on a (system-theoretic) max-plus algebra performance evaluation approach. Sections of the paper are devoted to the PETER user-interface, analysis opportunities and network performance indicators, and an application to the Dutch intercity network of 2000-2001. Conclusions are also presented.
