Abstract

Sequential decomposition of light vehicles displacements is a new way to investigate kinematic properties of vehicles moving. It has to be jointly employed with data analysis methods, and then yields summarized speed-time relations in good agreement with actual driving conditions. Pollutants emissions and fuel consumption may be measured in roller test rig experiments. EUREV data contain 18,500 sequences, they show a four-categories structure, and displacements are clustered into three groups. All these results are meaningful and robust.
