Photosynthetic efficiency in crops can beassociatedwithstressresistanceandyieldincrease.Inmaize, photosyntheticefficiency is important in inbred lines during breeding process and in seedproduction, aswellasinhybrids.Objectiveofthisstudyistodeterminedifferences in photosynthetic efficiency under the water-limited conditionsbetween seven flint and dent maize inbred lines belonging to variousheterotic groups. Moreover, this investigation will serve as a preliminarystudy for the QTL analysis of chlorophyll fluorescence parameters in orderto understand the genetic and physiological background to drought stresstolerance inmaize.
