Summary Properdin, complement and Mg++, the known constituents of the properdin system, are necessary for neutralization of T2r+ coliphage by human serum. Certain polysaccharides and lipopolysaccharides annul the neutralization. Phage neutralization is pH, ionic strength, and temperature dependent.
