Dialogue

Abstract

The article is a dialogue between researchers who comment on articles that were published in “Academy of Management Review.” Robert Albanese, M. Tina Dacin, and Ira C. Harris comment on the stewardship model presented by James H. Davis, F. David Schoorman, and Lex Donaldson in the January 1997 issue and suggest a broader use of agency theory. Davis, Schoorman, and Donaldson respond with their views on agency theory, the agency problem, principal-steward relationships, the rational actor model, and stewardship behavior.
