Abstract

Online learning has become a solution for the continuity of teaching and learning process in Indonesia during Covid-19 pandemic. This article focused on critically examining the perceptions of students to the implementation of online learning in Universitas Islam Raden Rahmat (Unira) Malang. This research involved 128 students from Faculty of Science and Technology in Unira Malang as respondents. The data were collected through online survey by Google Form. The result showed that most of the students had negative perceptions to online learning. Although they agreed that online learning was the right solution during Covid-19 pandemic, the online learning which was implemented without proper planning resulted in the absence of easiness, involvement, and effectiveness of online learning. Most students complained about the learning processes which were dominated by assignments, as well as unstable and high cost of internet connection. Careful planning of university management, designer, and lecturers are needed to create beneficial and useful online learning for the students.
