The fundamental difference between wireless networks and other MANETs (Mobile Ad-hoc Networks) is mobility. Therefore, a node mobility plays a vital role in determining the performance of MANET routing protocol. In real life applications the movement pattern describes about the position of mobile users, their location and velocity of node varies over the time. The MANET involves of a set of low power wireless mobile devices that can move arbitrarily in any direction without any fixed administration. The mobility models which are used for ad-hoc wireless networks influences the overall network protocol performance of ad hoc wireless networks. To design efficient and effective mobility model for MANET is a challenging task to attain optimal values of performance metrics. Thus, in order to enhance the network performance metrics of various routing protocols under different network scenarios, it need to incorporate efficient mobility models for real MANETs. In the existing literature, most of the investigators employ the various conventional mobility models for MANETs using different routing protocols. But such mobility models provide unrealistic movement scenario so they are limited to random walk models without considering environment constraints. In this research paper, the proposed GBM (Graph-Based Model) which is a realistic mobility model to provide exact information about each and every mobility traces of users in real MANETs. The results of the proposed mobility model give the better protocol performance metrics when compared to unrealistic mobility models. The simulation work has been carried out using network simulator-3.25 (NS-3.25).
