Prejudices against Microsatellite Studies and How to Resist Them

Abstract

Abstract In this article, we summarize the basic concepts and techniques widely used in microsatellite studies. We describe briefly the main stages of the work and provide references for the most frequently used computational programs for processing microsatellite data. The article also gives a brief analysis of the biological meaning of the indices most often encountered in microsatellite studies.
