The relationship between structure of some polyphenolic compounds and their molluscicidal activity is discussed. Among proanthocyanidins tested against Bulinus truncatus, B 2 3-gallate (8) and B 2 3'-gallate (9) were 100% lethal to snails at 10 and 20 ppm, respectively. Among flavones and flavonols, the glycosylated derivatives were found to be more active than their correspondent aglycons.
