The essential oil analysis of seeds and fruit pulp of Skimmia anquetilia N.P. Taylor & Airy Shaw (Family ─ Rutaceae) by the combination of GC and GC-MS revealed the presence of fatty acids and esters of fatty acids, viz. methyl linolenate, n-hexadecanoic acid and octadecanoic acid. Forty six and fifty two compounds were identified in the essential oils, respectively. The antioxidant activity of the water extracts of seed and fruit pulp were analyzed by 2 2-diphenyl-1 picryalhydrazide (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, reducing power assay and chelating activity of Fe 2+ . Both the extracts showed moderate in vitro antioxidant activity.
