An attempt is made to describe the supervisory process from the point of view of the supervisee. The supervisory process is divided into four main stages: (1) A relationship of teacher and pupil; (2) A relationship resembling apprenticeship; (3) Developing the individual therapeutic personality of the supervisee (most important stage); and (4) Mutual consultation among equals.
