Abstract

This paper describes two typical cases of sulphite-provoked, life-threatening asthma. Patients with acute asthma who require parenteral administration of corticosteroids should be treated with preparations which do not contain sulphites. The use of metabi-sulphites as preservatives and antioxidants may need re-evaluating.
