Qualitative Methods in Evaluation Research

Abstract

Developmental lines of evalua- tion research are traced. The relation of evaluation and evaluation research is briefly discussed. Problems arising from the use of qualitative methods of evalua- tion are addressed and defining aspects of qualitative evaluation research are pre- sented. As a conclusion, the use of qualita- tive methods for evaluation is discussed and challenges and open questions of qualitative evaluation research are out- lined.
