SUMMARY The pattern of development of mature capsules of E. regnans from inflorescence primordial is described and a method given for studying the natural fall of eucailypt seed. The results of studies with E. regnane arad E. obliqua extending over 5 years in Tasmania and Victoria are presented. Curves showing the time of peak seed fall for both species are included, and; for E. regnane, estimates are given of the amount of seed fall for the 1955–56 season under various degrees of crown cover, together with figures for the annual fall of other reproductive parts such as buds and opercula. The results of two studies on the distance of dispersal of E. regnans seed are given.
